CLUB FAQs
The USL Championship is one of the largest, fastest-growing professional soccer leagues in the world, reaching a population of more than 84 million and fueling the growth of the game across the United States. Headquartered in Tampa, Fla., the United Soccer League (USL) provides unparalleled club support with a growing team of more than 80 professionals across 17 departments, ranging from operations to marketing, communications and sponsorship.
As the highest division of Men’s soccer in USL, the Championship currently has a national media partnership with CBS Sports. 100 USL matches will air annually through the 2027 USL Championship and USL League One seasons. CBS Sports’ extensive multiplatform USL match coverage will air across the CBS Television Network and Paramount+, CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports Golazo Network.
Through the deal, CBS Sports will broadcast select USL matches, including the USL Championship Final, on the CBS Television Network–the first time USL competition will be featured on network television in league history. Matches on the CBS Television Network will also simulcast live on Paramount+. CBS Sports will also televise more than 20 USL matches on CBS Sports Network annually and 75 USL matches each season on CBS Sports Golazo Network, the 24/7 soccer streaming network available across multiple platforms, including Paramount+.
Rhode Island FC’s 2024 home matches will be played at Bryant University’s Beirne Stadium. RIFC will then play in a new stadium at Tidewater Landing – a historic development opportunity that will transform Pawtucket’s riverfront and be the largest driver of economic development for the city since the Industrial Revolution — in 2025. Construction for the stadium is underway.

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will return to the Ocean State! As the oldest, annual team tournament in US sports history, the U.S. Open Cup dates back to 1914 when the Brooklyn Field Club won the first national title by defeating the Brooklyn Celtics in Pawtucket, R.I. In 1941, the Pawtucket Rangers raised the cup and the region celebrated their success. Rhode Island FC may be a new team, but we are rooted in a long history of honoring the beautiful game. RIFC strongly believes that the best way to experience a match is by standing, chanting and cheering for 90 minutes with others that share your passion. RIFC looks forward to working with local supporters to develop a club that represents all of Rhode Island, including recognized supporter groups. Individuals or groups that are interested are encouraged to contact goal@rhodeislandfc.com.
At this time, there is no promotion/ relegation in North American soccer. However, RIFC is proud to be part of a league that is exploring the possibility.
