Rhode Island FC Announces Open Tryouts for Inaugural Season
PAWTUCKET, RI – Rhode Island FC, the Ocean State’s new, independently owned and operated men’s soccer club, has announced details on the team’s upcoming open tryouts. This comes after months of scouting by Rhode Island FC Head Coach and General Manager Khano Smith, who has traveled internationally on scouting trips to prepare for the club’s inaugural season in 2024.
Tryouts will take place on Saturday, November 11 at Providence Country Day School in East Providence. The open tryouts will provide an opportunity for regional talent and aspiring professional players to catch the eye of RIFC’s coaching staff and potentially secure an invitation to Rhode Island FC’s Player Identification Combine later this year.
“When I began my role as head coach, one of my top priorities was staying true to our club’s commitment in being a team for all of Rhode Island. I can think of no better way to fulfill that promise than by providing an opportunity for local talent to showcase their skills through an open tryout in state,” said Coach Smith. “The team we put on the pitch will be a team we can all be proud of and it will reflect the character of our community.”
All players interested in participating in the Rhode Island FC Open Tryouts must register online and pay a registration fee of $100.00. Registration must be completed prior to Friday, October 6, 2023.

The announcement of open tryouts comes as the club has opened season ticket sales for the 2024 inaugural season to the general public. Fans can purchase season tickets at www.rhodeislandfc.com.
