Fan Code of Conduct
Rhode Island Football Club (RIFC) strives to make every fan’s experience enjoyable and memorable. To that end, we ask attendees to abide by the following fan code of conduct:
- Fighting, throwing objects and attempts to enter the playing field at any time is prohibited.
- Political, discriminatory, derogatory, or inciting messages, disorderly behavior including foul, sexist, racist, threatening, obscene, or abusive language, gestures, symbols, signs, or imagery are all prohibited. The use of language that is discriminatory basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, ability, and/or sexual orientation is strictly prohibited. Discriminatory messages are not permitted on clothing or signage, nor in chants.
- Fans must refrain from wearing obscene or indecent clothing in the stadium.
- Fans are encouraged to cheer, sing, and support their team while remaining respectful and courteous to fellow and opposing fans, players, coaches, officials, and stadium staff. No verbal or physical harassment is acceptable.
- Fans must not engage in any violent, dangerous, or illegal conduct.
- Fans must not intentionally cause damage to the stadium or personal property.
- Fans may not advertise or sell goods or services in the stadium or distribute any pamphlets or handouts.
- Handheld signs, banners and flags are encouraged and welcome (must be no larger than 3’x3’). Banners may not cover existing stadium signage or obstruct the view of other guests. Banners with profane, inciting, political or otherwise inappropriate messages will be removed. Unless specifically approved in advance, banners may not exceed three feet in height and three feet in width.
- Fans must comply with requests from stadium staff and law enforcement personnel regarding stadium policies, including patron screening procedures and bag checks, and emergency response procedures.
- Fans must promptly and carefully return match balls to a stadium staff member or ball kid on the sidelines if a ball enters the stands during warm-ups and/or the match.
- Entering or attempting to gain access to any location other than what is explicitly permitted by one’s ticket is prohibited.
- Fans must vacate the stadium premises immediately following the conclusion of the event, unless otherwise directed or permitted by stadium staff.
- Fans are not permitted to re-enter the stadium after exiting.
- Fans may not live-stream or provide any other unauthorized transmission of the event.
The following items are prohibited:
- Weapons of any kind, including pocketknives.
- Flammable items, including lighters and aerosols (pepper spray, mace, etc.).
- Outside food & beverages of any kind.
- Flares, incendiary devices, smoke devices, sparklers, or fireworks.
- Drugs, including medical marijuana and marijuana in any form, or illegal substances.
- Smoking or tobacco products of any kind, including vaping devices and e-cigarettes.
- Remote controlled aircraft or unmanned aircraft systems, including gliders, drones, kites, and any missile or projectile-like objects.
- Professional cameras with lenses that are larger than 70mm, video cameras, GoPro and similar cameras, tripods, and selfie sticks.
- Laser pointers/pens.
- Animals or pets, except for service animals.
- Signs, banners, and/or flags that are larger than 3 ft. x 3 ft. (or any other item that could obstruct other patron’s views).
- Inappropriate and/or offensive attire, signs, banners, or flags.
- Non-PVC flag poles.
- Umbrellas.
- Metal or glass containers of any kind.
- Coolers, containers (e.g. bottles, cans), flasks, thermoses, and ice chests.
- Wristlets or handheld wallets, with or without a strap, larger than 6.5” x 4.5”.
- Backpacks and bags over 12” x 12” x 6” inches.
- Luggage, computer bags, briefcases, backpacks, large purses, and camera cases.
- Skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, or non-medically prescribed wheeled devices except for infant strollers that can be stored underneath your seats. Bicycle racks will be available outside of the stadium.
- Un-approved pamphlets, handouts, advertisements, or any other printed materials.
- Frisbees, and inflated balls of any kind.
- Seat cushions or portable chairs.
- Noisemakers such as air horns, drums, cowbells, horns, megaphones, vuvuzelas, and whistles.
- Confetti.
- Any other items deemed to be inappropriate or dangerous by stadium management.
The following items are permitted:
- Bags not exceeding 12” x 12” x 6”, which may include clear totes, plastic zip top bags, clutches, and small purses (all subject to search by stadium and security staff).
- Wristlets or handheld wallets smaller than 6.5” x 4.5”.
- Diaper bags (subject to inspection and tagging).
- Binoculars.
- Small electronics, such as cell phones and personal cameras.
- Blankets.
- Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes.
Fans not adhering to the above or any other terms of the Fan Code of Conduct may be removed from the stadium, without refund or re-entry. For serious violations of the Code of Conduct, the stadium further reserves the right to ban fans from future stadium events, as determined in stadium management’s sole discretion. Stadium staff reserves the right to determine what is unruly or unacceptable behavior. If you are experiencing issues during an event, please contact the nearest stadium staff member for assistance.
