Preseason highlighted by trips to IMG Academy and Bermuda
Pawtucket, R.I. (Jan. 17, 2024) – Rhode Island FC announced today its 2024 preseason schedule as it prepares for its inaugural season in the USL Championship. Head Coach Khano Smith’s team will play several exhibition matches in preparation for the regular season kicking off Saturday, March 16 at Beirne Stadium on the campus of Bryant University against Western Conference opponent New Mexico United.
“This is an exciting time for our club,” said Head Coach and General Manager Khano Smith. “Our players are hungry to compete as they continue getting to know each other, building team chemistry. We have put together a competitive preseason that we believe will prepare us to compete at a high level in our home opener on March 16.”
The RIFC preseason will be highlighted by a two-week training camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton Fla. in early February before a six-day camp alongside the Bermuda Football Association in Devonshire, Bermuda at the end of the month.
