Lee signed his first professional contract with Rhode Island FC on December 22, 2023. He made his professional debut in the club’s second-ever game at Monterey Bay FC on March 24, 2024, and kept the first clean sheet in club history vs. Charleston Battery on April 6, 2024. In total, the Australian made 12 appearances as a backup, keeping three clean sheets and making 32 saves in his first season. Lee signed with the Ocean State club before the 2024 MLS Superdraft, where the goalkeeper was selected with the 28th overall pick by Los Angeles Football Club. At the collegiate level, Lee played for two seasons at West Virginia University. Lee set a university record for most goalkeeper wins in 2023 with 17 after playing every minute of the Mountaineers’ season, which concluded at the semifinals of the College Cup. Adding nine clean sheets to his senior campaign, good enough for seventh in the nation, Lee’s postseason accolades included selections to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second Team and All-Sun Belt Second Team. Prior to transferring to Morgantown, Lee started his college career at George Mason University. Lee started all 16 games during the Patriots’ 2021 season, making 67 saves and earning one shutout in 1,426 minutes between the posts. At the international level, Lee was part of Australia’s national teams from U-16 to U-19.
