Vegas was written into Rhode Island FC history on November 1, 2023, when he became the first player signed to the club’s roster. The Spaniard enters his fifth season in the USL Championship in 2026 and third with RIFC, after spending his first two seasons in the league with San Diego Loyal. In his first two seasons with the Ocean State club, Vegas tallied 126 career saves and kept 22 clean sheets, logging 4,877 minutes in 54 career starts.
2025: Despite missing 13 games due to injury in the middle of the season, Vegas was one of RIFC’s most vital defensive pieces in 2025. The Spaniard tallied 61 saves in 26 appearances across all competitions, keeping 15 clean sheets, including four in his last six games. Across the regular season and playoffs, he helped RIFC accrue a league-second best 14 shutouts, finishing in second place in the Golden Glove race with an 0.86 goals against average.
2024: During his first season with RIFC in 2024, Vegas was named captain, tallying 2,507 minutes across 28 appearances. He made 65 saves and kept seven clean sheets, playing a pivotal role in the club’s journey to the USL Championship Final in its inaugural season.
Before RIFC: During his time in San Diego, Vegas finished his first year of USL Championship play with a single-season team record 2,622 minutes, 74 saves and six clean sheets in 30 starts. His second season saw more of the same as the goalkeeper set a new single-season team record with 2,790 minutes while adding eight clean sheets and 72 saves. Known for the quality in his touch and ability to help build up from the back, Vegas went to San Diego Loyal after 11 years of professional experience in Spain, including La Liga sides Levante UD and RCD Mallorca. Vegas made his professional debut in 2011 with Antequera CF and won a La Liga 2 championship in 2017 with Levante UD.
