Former University of Rhode Island, Sacred Heart University goalkeeper joins RIFC as emergency goalkeeper
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (Sept. 30, 2026) – Rhode Island FC announced today it has signed goalkeeper Nate DiLoreto to a 25-day contract, pending league and federation approval. DiLoreto will be available for selection in Wednesday’s game vs. Indy Eleven, joining RIFC as an emergency goalkeeper in the absence of Koke Vegas (suspension) and Will Meyer (injury).
DiLoreto joins RIFC after concluding a five-season collegiate career in 2025, where he featured for three programs. He began his collegiate journey in 2021, playing three games for the University of Hartford during his rookie campaign before moving to the Ocean State, where he spent the majority of his career.
In three seasons at the University of Rhode Island from 2022-2024, DiLoreto appeared in seven games, making 26 saves and keeping a 4W-1L-2T record between the sticks for the Rams. He transferred to Sacred Heart University in 2025 to complete his collegiate career, where he appeared in four games and made nine saves.
