PROFILE
Ybarra signed with Rhode Island FC on December 14, 2023. The midfielder came to the Ocean State on the heels of a Players’ Shield-winning campaign with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. In his first season with RIFC, Ybarra was one of only two players to appear in all 38 games, and led the club with 37 starts. In 2,990 minutes, he scored one goal and assisted four. Prior to his time with RIFC, Ybarra spent two seasons with the Riverhounds. He quickly became a regular after his debut in 2022, logging 65 appearances across two seasons, including all 34 games in 2023. That season, Pittsburgh tallied its second-highest point total in club history (67) and matched the then-highest USL Championship single-season home win total at 13 en route to a 19-5-10 record. During his first season with the Hounds, Ybarra contributed 688 minutes in 23 appearances. Before arriving in Pittsburgh, the midfielder enjoyed a record-setting collegiate career at the University of Michigan. From 2017 to 2021, Ybarra took home three Big 10 First-Team selections and one Big 10 Midfielder of the Year honor. Ybarra currently holds the school record for career appearances (91), starts (90), and minutes (7,665), while also ranking second in program history with 24 assists. He finished his collegiate career with nine goals, five of which came in his final two seasons.
