Vang made Ocean State history on February 20, 2024, when he not only became one of two Rhode Island natives to sign a professional contract with Rhode Island FC, but was also the first player signed out of a local Rhode Island college or university. Vang made two appearances and tallied 91 minutes for RIFC in 2024 during his first professional season, making his RIFC debut in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on April 16, 2024. A former standout at Providence College, Vang was born and raised in Rhode Island and attended Cranston East High School. Through his five seasons with the Friars, Vang made 83 appearances, recording four goals and nine assists in 4,877 minutes. Before making the jump to the collegiate ranks, Vang garnered national spotlight while playing with the New England Revolution Academy. The midfielder’s play was recognized by U.S. Soccer, who called him up to a Youth National Team Futures Camp in 2015 and an Under-17 National Team Camp in 2016. Vang was also named an Eastern Conference Best XI selection for the 2016-17 Development Academy season. Before joining the Revolution Academy, Vang’s youth career took off while playing at Bayside FC.
